One of the world's great maritime events is the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, held annually since 1945. The racing yachts navigate 630 nautical miles, in the hope of entering the mouth of the Derwent River in Tasmania as victors. Lateral Linking is involved each year at the race start. The company installs cameras on competing yachts, chase boats, and a helicopter. Lateral crew also co-ordinate the communications between water-borne and airborne camera crews, director, Channel 10 commentators, talent and yacht captains.
